On July 24, 2018, Coblentz Patch Duffy & Bass teamed up with the Bar Association of San Francisco’s Justice & Diversity Center to offer a free workshop on real estate geared specifically toward a nonprofit audience.

Alan Gennis and Misti Schmidt presented a “Leasing, Facilities, and Space Planning” training to thirty representatives from Bay Area nonprofits. The event was hosted by the San Francisco Bar Association’s Justice & Diversity Center as a component of its “Community Organization Representation Project” or CORP. On December 13, 2017, please join us for a panel discussion on special issues concerning the protection of trademarks and other intellectual property in mobile applications. The panel will explore hot topics for brand owners working in the limited real estate of mobile devices, including evolving trademark use conventions, recent case law developments, and special considerations in gameplay. On September 12, Gov. Jerry Brown signed AB 1066, changing the overtime rules for agricultural employers and employees in California. The ag overtime law is the latest of a string of environmental and labor regulations enacted and taking effect in the past few years that are changing the economics of agriculture. We will also review meal and rest period, pay stub, seating, transportation and housing issues, as well as which work order applies and the evolving trend of joint employer liability that can force the winery and vineyard owner to pay for a staffing agency’s or labor contractor’s violations.

This session will provide an overview of current regulations and practical guidance on their interpretation and implementation.

Facteau, U.S. v. Federal Express, and U.S. v. PG&E, discussing pretrial strategy, dealing with the press and public, jury considerations, responsible corporate officers, trial without individuals, and corporate mens rea.
