The California Privacy Rights Act (“CPRA”) amended the California Consumer Privacy Act (“CCPA”), and went into effect on January 1, 2023. The CPRA expanded consumer rights and created new privacy compliance requirements that businesses must put in place. CPRA enforcement begins on July 1, 2023.

Coblentz is the proud host of the Copyright Society’s program “Going where no Bach has gone before: New Frontiers with AI-Created Music” on Thursday, May 4. With AI-generated music, copyright protection is facing rapidly emerging challenges. While the advent of digital music, file sharing, sampling, and streaming already stirred panic in the industry over the past 40 years, today’s AI-generated music is stoking new concerns for enforcement, expression, and originality. Musicologist Judith Finell will discuss this topic, and will demonstrate recent developments in Chat-GPT music applications.
