James Moore is the Director of Legal Talent for Coblentz. He leads Coblentz’s professional development and attorney recruiting and retention functions. Jim supports the success and well-being of attorneys through formal and informal counseling, education, mentoring and performance review programs. He also supports the firm’s Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I) strategies and goals.

Jim combines his experience as a litigator and legal career coach and counselor to support lawyers in their professional development and career planning.

Prior to joining Coblentz, Jim spent 12 years serving as the Director of Career Development at O’Melveny & Myers. In this role, Jim provided confidential, career guidance to O’Melveny associates and counsel regarding all aspects of legal career growth and development. Jim also supported all facets of the firm’s talent development programs.

Jim brings ten years of litigation experience to this position. He joined O’Melveny as litigation counsel in 2008, and prior to that, was an associate with Gray Cary (now DLA Piper) and later Thelen in their Silicon Valley offices.

Jim earned his J.D. from The George Washington University Law School in 2001 and graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Rhode Island in 1988 with a B.A. in Journalism.
